Alsace

Alsace is an important wine-producing region in northeastern France. It is the only region in France to produce mostly varietal wines identified by the names of the grapes used. The region is particularly noted for its dry rieslings and the Gewurztraminer grape. Vineyards are primarily located along the 170km Route des Vins d'Alsace, which stretches from Marlenheim to Thann.
